A: Yes, that is a great idea so you do not have to run out of oil and risk damage to your burner.
Q: What’s your minimum delivery of discount heating oil?
A: Our minimum order quantity is 25 gallons.

Q: When will I receive my delivery?
A: Most Long Island home heating oil orders placed before 10:00 AM am will be delivered on the same day under normal weather and operational conditions. If you place your order after 10:00 AM, you can expect your delivery the next day. In some cases, however, delivery may take longer. If that occurs we’ll always inform you of any delays regarding your delivery.

Q: When is payment due for my heating oil delivery?
A: If paying by credit or debit card, you’ll be charged at the time you place your order. Alternatively, you may pay at the time of delivery with a bank-certified check, money order or cash.
Q: Do you charge any additional fees?
No, Southside Discount Heating Oil doesn’t charge any extra fees except any applicable taxes.
Q: What if my tank doesn’t take all the gallons I ordered?
A: We’ll only charge you for the number of gallons you actually receive. However, higher volume deliveries will receive lower prices so if your tank takes a smaller quantity than you ordered, your price per gallon may be adjusted and higher than quoted.
Q: Why did I receive fewer gallons than what I ordered?
A: Usually the reason for this is because your tank couldn’t take all the gallons you ordered. Heating oil tanks have what’s called a “usable capacity” which is slightly less than the actual capacity of your tank, i.e. a 275 gallon tank has a usable capacity of about 256 gallons.
The rest of the space is needed to avoid accidental spills and to allow expansion of the fuel as it warms. To avoid environmental contamination and for safety, the driver is required to stop pumping oil when the vent alarm indicates that your tank is full.
Q: If heating oil price goes up before I receive my home heating oil delivery, do I pay the higher price?
A: Once you place your order you are guaranteed the quoted price.
Q: Do I need to be home when my heating oil is being delivered?
A: Usually not, unless there’s no ready access to the fill of your fuel tank.
Q: What are “normal weather conditions”?
A: Normal weather means typical weather conditions expected for that time of the year. It doesn’t happen often, but in the even of abnormal weather, we will alert you prior to placing your order as soon as we become aware of such conditions.
